All Strapped In

All Strapped In

Noticed these on the well-heeled set recently? Well, thanks to the fashion army the likes of Nick Wooster and George Cortina, monk straps are back big time and now come pre-loaded with a whole load of street cred. Whether in the single, or the more proud and boisterous double monk strap, shoe makers from Northampton to New York are plying their arcane skills and cashing in on the resurgence of this old-school style. Slimmed down for the modern gent, they are less formal than the laced up oxford, and have been re-interpreted in various leather treatments including burnished toe caps and studded straps. Great with chinos, dashing in a suit, and even better when paired with dark indigo jeans, they're worth every penny you pay for them and then some.
