Crosley x Star Wars Record Story Day turntable special edition
Felt a disturbance in the force? That’s probably because Crosley Radio announced this week that they will be releasing a special edition of the Cruiser Deluxe on Record Store Day, 22 April – sorry guys, only at the participating independent record stores in the US. I Am Heath Ledger feature documentary
Last Tuesday, 4 April, which would have been the late actor Heath Ledger’s 38th birthday, Spike TV released the trailer for the upcoming feature length documentary film, I Am Heath Ledger. The film features never-before-seen home footage of the deceased actor, mostly shot himself with his handheld camcorder, as well as interviews with family, friends and colleagues. The documentary will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 23, and a subsequent airing on Spike TV on May 17, complementing the Heath Ledger: A Life in Pictures exhibition at the WA Museum and Art Gallery in his hometown Perth, Australia later this year.
Apollo VII-XVII: The Apollo Program Photography Book
Before the days of smartphones, the 33 astronauts of the Apollo missions do not have the luxuries of multiple shots and immediate picture display; every shot they took while up in space was of essence. Their photography skills, honed amidst their facts and figures for the missions by NASA photography coach Richard Underwood, and the iconic images finally paid off in the form of a photo book, put together by designers Simon Phillipson, Floris Heyne, Joel Meter and Delano Steenmeijer. That one giant leap for mankind (and many more across the solar system) is yours to keep here.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword trailer
After Sherlock Holmes, Guy Ritchie taps into another beloved British legend, starring Charlie Hunnam as the said legend. With a bit of on screen sorcery and grit, King Arthur’s story is retold from the back streets of Londinium, to the discovery of his royal lineage when he bequeaths himself with Excalibur, to his battle with Vortigern (Jude Law) to overthrow his rule of the kingdom.
Samsung Galaxy S8
The South Korean electronics giant will hope for a better outing this time with the latest flagship after the previous debacle with the Galaxy Note 7. DisplayMate Technologies rates S8’s screen as the best performing smartphone display and gives it the highest-ever A+ grade. Other innovations to look forward to include the Bixby Assistant, which provides voice-based assistance and may potentially allow you to control other Samsung-branded products.
